How to become a Member

We do not require that you be a member to check into one of the Blue Ridge Weather Watch nets or to report in during a severe weather activation.  We encourage anyone  with a valid Amateur Radio license to check in to our 2 meter or 440 nets.

We do require our members to be NWS Skywarn Spotters and to have taken at least, the Basic Skywarn Class that is taught by the National Weather Service and to attend any NWS Skywarn taught class at least once every 3 years.  We also also would like for our members to check into as many nets as they can.

If you would like to join The Blue Ridge Weather Watch Organization and have not had the Basic Skywarn Training. Go to the bottom of the Navigator on the left to the  On Line Skywarn and click on that. Take the Class and upon Satisfactory completion you will be issued a Certification of Completion. A Basic and other Skywarn Certificates must accompany the Application.

To join the Blue Ridge Weather Watch,  just download our application for membership form (click here),  and E-Mail it and a copy of your Skywarn certificate to ( wx4brw@thebrww.org ) or bring it to the next Blue Ridge Weather Watch quarterly meeting.  If you have problems downloading the application, please send an email to us at the email address listed at the bottom of this page.

The Blue Ridge Weather Watch, currently meets the 2nd Saturday of every quarter at the Maiden Rescue Squad, in Maiden North Carolina.  Feel free to contact us at the email address below or on one of the daily nets for directions or with any questions you may have about the Blue Ridge Weather Watch or about becoming a Skywarn Spotter.
