Change of membership Purpose
To Becoming a Net Controller
We do not require that you be a member to check into one of the Blue Ridge Weather Watch nets or to report in during a severe weather activation. We encourage anyone with a valid Amateur Radio license to check in to our 2 meter or 440 nets. Also encourage you to report Sever Weather in your area to our Net Controller during Activation or Standby Modes. Or anytime that Sever Weather is in your area even if we are not Active.
We have changed our membership Polices. Membership is now for Net controllers only. if you would like to become a Net Controller of the Blue Ridge Weather Watch Organization we would like very much to consider you as a Net Controller. We require our Net Controllers to be an Active member of the Organization for at least 6 months before becoming eligible to become a Net Controller .
If you are interested in becoming a Net Controller of The Blue Ridge Weather Watch Organization and have not had the Basic and Advanced Skywarn Training. Go to the bottom of the Navigator on the left to the On Line Skywarn and click on that. Take the Class and upon Satisfactory completion you will be i ssued a Certification of Completion. A Basic and other Skywarn Certificates must accompany the Application.
To join the Blue Ridge Weather Watch, just download our application for membership form (click here), and E-Mail it and a copy of your Skywarn certificate to ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) or bring it to the next Blue Ridge Weather Watch quarterly meeting. If you have problems downloading the application, please send an email to us at the email address listed at the bottom of this page.
The Blue Ridge Weather Watch, currently meets the 2nd Saturday of every quarter at the Maiden Rescue Squad, in Maiden North Carolina.
