…ACCUMULATING SNOW EXPECTED ACROSS PARTS OF THE WESTERN NORTH
CAROLINA MOUNTAINS THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING…
.A passing upper-level disturbance, along with moist northwest
flow at low-levels, will generate accumulating snow showers
across the Tennessee border counties of the North Carolina
mountains tonight into Tuesday morning.
…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST
TUESDAY ABOVE 3500 FEET…
- WHAT…Snow expected. Plan on slippery road conditions. Total
snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with localized amounts up
to 6 inches over the high elevations of the Smokies, are
WHERE…Swain, Haywood and Graham Counties.
WHEN…From 7 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Tuesday.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Be prepared for reduced visibilities at
times. Cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero will cause
frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
